oh blah - maybe the dependency on small creatures comes from having small children around for so long and then having the aforementioned grow up and away, our house cat Gomez came to a sad end last night, she always followed me around everywhere, seems she jumped in the front load washer when I was finishing up and fell asleep - she was the same steely gray color as the liner. I was busy, pre-occupied, sleepy - never realized or imagined - found her there this morning, the door had unusually been pushed shut. How sad, she was a good friend. SO, I might add, check the washer before you walk away....

[...] This is the second part of our discussion of fecal tests. As we mentioned before, we always recommend that you bring a stool sample for examination for parasites, when you come in for your pet’s wellness exam or whenever your pet is experiencing diarrhea. We are doing this not only for the protection of your pet, but for you and your family. What we are looking for are worms such as roundworm, hookworm, and whipworm, as well as protozoal parasites such as giardia. Read about roundworms here: Fecal Test Part 1: Roundworms.
Tea bags are a great first aid and alternative therapy. Be aware though, that if the hotspot is not improving by the next day, it should still be seen by a veterinarian, as it may require one or more of the medical therapies mentioned above.

I was so pleased to see your blog about using tea bags on hot spots. Many people i know as well as myself have owned a dog with serious hotspots. It is an awful experience for the dog and expensive creams & tests usually never manage to offer much relief to the pet or the owner. I actually learned this trick from someone in the dogpark one day and it works great. I'm so pleased to see you sharing it
