Ciara was born and raised in a small town called Naas, in Ireland. She graduated from the Institute of Technology Carlow in Social Care in 2015. She worked in the social care field for five years before moving to Toronto. Ciara feels this experience enhanced her skills communicating with people greatly, which has helped her at Blue Cross assisting our clients.
“I love animals and have always wanted to work with and comfort them when they may feel anxious or frightened- as they do for us. I didn’t think I’d ever get the opportunity to give back to animals, but I’m so glad I can now.”
Ciara works at the front desk, checking the dogs and cats in for their appointment. She brings them into the clinic and gives them lots of treats, pats, and loads of love while they wait to see the doctor. She stocks the exam rooms to ensure they’re ready for appointments, along with making sure they’re clean and tidy for our clients. In the call centre, she answers our client’s questions, books appointments, and checks in on our patients to ask how they are doing after their visits.
Back in Ireland with her family, she has two amazing Jack Russell terriers that she misses very much. Cooper, who is a ripe 18 years old and little brother, Broony, who is 3. It was very quiet in her apartment in Toronto, so she decided to rescue a cute little Chihuahua named Benny!
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and going to the cinema. Reality TV is Ciara’s weakness.
“I love getting to meet all the amazing pets that come into the clinic, and seeing all different breeds of dogs and cats. Every day brings something new and there’s never a dull moment! It helps that I have a great team to work with.”
