Dr. Elise D’Arcy, Veterinarian
Dr. D’Arcy grew up in Fredericton, NB. She has always loved animals and been passionate about helping them. After starting a premedical undergraduate degree with the plan of becoming an MD (a lifelong goal), Dr. D’Arcy soon realized that her true passion was working with animals—she loved volunteering at the animal shelter way more than at the human hospital. Veterinary medicine combined her love of health sciences with working with animals.
Before coming to us at Blue Cross Animal Hospital, Dr. D’Arcy earned her DVM at the Atlantic Vet College in PEI, Dr. D’Arcy completed a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery in NYC, at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners—where she sometimes treated celebrity pets. She has been working in general practice since 2015.
“I chose BCAH as the hospital has a great work environment, with a high standard of patient care. I like being able to work with other veterinarians and discuss cases. ”
Dr. D’arcy was a competitive horse back rider as a child, and now loves travel, scuba diving, and being outside in nature. Passionate about animal welfare, she has a senior rescue dog from the Caribbean named Woody, and has been a vegetarian since she was 10 years old.
