Gail, Hospital Manager

Gail grew up in West Yokshire, England, before moving to Canada in 1990. She worked as a family caregiver, and then in the hospitality industry. Her background in caring, team management, and client service have made her a wonderful fit for Blue Cross Animal Hospital. With varied responisiblities too many to fully enumerate, Gail is the lynchpin of our hospital. As well as being involved in the ongoing development and practice of our client and patient care policies, she manages and co-ordinates our several teams, responds to client feedback, manages our technical backbone, and even finds time to organize the annual holiday party!

Like everyone who works at Blue Cross Animal Hospital, Gail chose the veterinary profession because she has a love of animals and a heartfelt interst in caring for them. She has a cat called Mouse and a rescued dog named Hercules. Mouse is an elderly medium haired tabby who has been blind almost since birth. Gail describes her as “a love bug.” Hercules is a Border Collie cross who was rescued at 18 months and who Gail says, “has brought us much joy (and occasional trouble :))”.

“I love the challenge of my job. I love being able to help all the employees and the clients and the animals in my own way. We take pride in what we do here.”

Outside of work, Gail is currently finishing up her HR Certificate at George Brown, working toward her Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP), and also working toward becoming a Certified Veterinaty Practice Manger (CVPM). She also likes to spend time with friends and walking her dog, as well as reading, running and taking pictures.
