Do good and get muddy! Our very own Blue Cross Warriors are running in the Mud Hero Urban on Saturday May 23. If you can’t heard about the Mud Run, check it out here: Mud Run Urban. 6KM, 20+ obstacles, and mud, mud, mud. The team has decided to run in support of The Feeding Program for Northern Dogs.
The feeding program is a grass roots effort to provide food and other resources to help the many unwanted and starving strays in Northern Communities. They do not have a website at the moment as (like many small charities) they have limited money and resources. They rely on their supporters to send food for the program, and on the charity of Gardewine Trucking and Haulage Co and North Star Air to get the deliveries to theses remote communities.
The Blue Cross Warriors are raising money to purchase food for these dogs and send it to the program in Thunder Bay. Filling the empty belly of a starving pup or dog for one day is not a solution to a much larger problem, but at least for that one day we will know that they weren’t hungry.
We have set up a Gofundme link if you would like to help out this much-needed charity: Feeding the Northern Dogs.
