As we draw to the close of the 2017 National Veterinary Technician Week, we want to give a massive, howling round of appreciation to our fantastic Technician Team.
Our Tech Team is a huge part of the caring hands-on attention your pet receives at Blue Cross Animal Hospital. A technician’s daily role is varied. They prepare for and assist in surgery and dentistry, and ultrasound. Technicians dispense medications, take x-rays, do our in-house lab work, and do laser therapy. You may well have met some of our veterinary technicians if you needed to learn home-care techniques. They can teach you to give pills, insulin, ear-drops or subcutaneous fluids, or how to clean your pet’s ears, or clip their nails. Many of them of them have achieved Fear Free certification, and bring those skills to caring for your pet while he or she is in hospital. It isn’t always an easy job–it can be both physically tiring and emotionally demanding. As with all our staff, our Techs commit themselves to ensuring that everything possible is done to give your pet a caring, comfortable, stress-free visit.
The Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants at Blue Cross Animal Hospital are a credit to their profession, committed to providing the best possible experience to the pets in our care. Ashley, Elaine, Karleigh, Lauren, Meghan, Nejra, and Nancy, we are singing your praises for Vet Tech Week!
