Veterinarian

Dr. Alison Bow (on maternity leave)

Dr. Bow grew up in Toronto and became a veterinarian because she loves being able to help animals that otherwise could not help themselves. She completed her BSc, at Bishop’s University and her Masters in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Guelph. She received her veterinary degree at the University of Edinburgh and she is also a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

“I love interacting with different people with a common goal and being able to strengthen the human-animal bond.”

Dr. Bow’s days at the hospital consist of seeing both healthy pets for annual exams and puppy and kittens for their initial visits. She also cares for sick or injured pets and performs diagnostics. Dr Bow performs soft tissue surgeries as well.

Dr. Bow loves spending time with her two beautiful sons and her family when she is not tending to her patients here. She enjoys skiing, scuba diving, going to her family’s cottage and travelling. Before she became a veterinarian, she actually used to be a water-ski instructor!

“I chose BCAH because everyone that works here is phenomenal. Everyone is so kind and compassionate and works incredibly hard as a team.”
