Dr. Shears grew up in the UK, near London. She went to university in Liverpool where she received her veterinary degree. She then moved to South Wales for a while before moving to Toronto and working as a veterinarian. Dr. Shears became a veterinarian because she loves being surrounded by animals.She has a special interest in internal medicine and dentistry.

During her days at the hospital, Dr. Shears can be found seeing patients for wellness exams as well as diagnosing and treating sick pets. She also performs surgery, dental procedures and other minor operations.
Dr. Shears has an elderly Cocker Spaniel called Poppy back in the UK, but no Canadian pets yet. In her free time she enjoys sports, the outdoors, sewing, and baking. During her veterinary career she has treated everything from alpacas, reindeer, parrots, lizards and one dolphin!
