Many of you may have met our wonderful Animal Care Attendant, Jenna. Just as caring outside of work as she is during the day, Jenna and her mom are participating in Kayaking for Cancer. Kayaking for Cancer is a 7 day kayaking trip starting in Kingston, Ontario on August 9th and ending in Ottawa Ontario on August 16th. This year 35 people will be paddling on the Rideau Canal to raise cancer awareness and to support the Canadian Cancer Society.

This is Jenna’s first year doing this and her mom’s second year. Last year, Jenna met her Mom at the finish line, and was so inspired that she decided to join in the event this year. Jenna loves camping and being on the water. Dedicating the trip to a grandfather she lost to cancer, a grandmother who beat cancer, and friends and family who are currently fighting, Jenna wants the trip to become a tradition with her mom. She’s been training by going on 4-6 hour kayaking trips and working with weights and resistance bands.

We’re excited for Jenna and proud of her effort. If you want to show your support for Jenna and a great cause, she’d be very grateful to receive donations in person at Blue Cross Animal Hospital, or online at:
