Aspen is a valued member of the Client Care Team here at Blue Cross. They grew up in Windsor, Indiana, Maine, and Montreal before eventually settling in Toronto.
Aspen began their career in animal care as an animal care attendant at another clinic, where they quickly discovered how much joy animals bring to their day-to-day life. They found themselves especially drawn to greeting clients and pets, offering treats, and helping with food recommendations- naturally leading them to transition into Client Care. In their daily role, Aspen answers calls and emails and warmly welcomes every animal that walks through our doors.
Aspen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and began working with animals shortly after graduating. They have experience working in doggy daycares and other veterinary clinics before joining the team at Blue Cross.
At home, Aspen has an impressive crew of four cats: sibling tabbies Evie and Jules (one long-haired, one short-haired), a delightfully chubby orange cat named Bart, and a very small black cat named Beanie. They would absolutely love to add a dog (or two!) to the family one day.
Outside of work, Aspen loves art and drawing and often doodles the pets they meet at the clinic. They also enjoy graphic novels and collect vintage toys and digital cameras (yes—digital cameras can be vintage!).
Fun fact: Aspen once met a dog who could do math. You could ask him questions like “What’s two plus two?” and he would answer by barking the correct number of times!
