Veterinarian
Dr. Cassidy Wong
Growing up in Markham ON, Dr. Wong chose the veterinary profession as she has loved animals and
science from a young age. She also admires the impact that all types of animals have on humans and
wanted to be able to contribute to enhancing those relationships.
Dr. Wong completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph and her Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine at Ontario Veterinary College. Prior to this, she volunteered and worked in the
veterinary industry for many years in facilities such as boarding kennels and humane societies. One of
her passions within the field is community outreach – providing veterinary care to those who have lack
of care or funding, as well as high-volume shelter medicine.
At one point when Dr. Wong was providing veterinary care at a homeless shelter, it was pouring rain so
she had to use the back of a U-Haul van as her exam room and head lamps as her only light source. She
was unable to stand up straight for hours but it was so rewarding to provide care to those that need it.
“I chose to work at BCAH because the staff is truly amazing and I get to be with animals all day!”
During a day at BCAH, Dr. Wong consults with our clients while treating healthy and sick patients. She
performs surgeries, and interprets lab results. When she is not at the clinic, Dr. Wong loves to go to the
gym, playing volleyball, and meeting up with her friends. She currently has a 4 year-old lavender
California King Snake named Athena, a family cat named Mira, and a rescue Chihuahua named Bandit,
who really is more like a cat! She is looking forward to rescuing more dogs in the future.
