Patient Care Attendant, Lead PCA

Elena

For as long as she can remember, Elena has wanted to work with animals. After growing up in Scarborough, she attended Sheridan College in the Animal Care program, but she says that she has learned even more from a mixture of people including pet groomers, dog trainers, animal care attendants, veterinary technicians, veterinarians and, of course, from the animals themselves.

“I love that I never know what animal might come through the door next. I love knowing that I played a part in improving the quality of life for an animal.”

At Blue Cross Animal Hospital, Elena can be found leading her team as they take care of the comfort and safety of pets in the hospital. From keeping the hospital clean and disinfected, to feeding and monitoring patients, to assisting with X-Rays, and logging patient food, activity, and belongings, Animal Care Attendants are the backbone of patient care.
