Harry grew up in Cali, Columbia and has always loved medicine and surgery. While he did consider taking up a career in human medicine, his love for animals and desire to advocate for those who cannot ask for help themselves convinced him to pursue a career in the veterinary field.
As a Veterinary Technician, Harry’s day is filled with helping doctors in sample collections, analyses, and treatments. He also fills medications for our patients in addition to prepping, assisting, and recovering patients during and post-surgery.
While Harry was in Colombia, he started off his schooling by studying International Business but his passion for animals and medicine eventually put him on the path to pursue a Veterinary and Zootechnician degree at the University of Tolima.
Harry practiced as a veterinarian from 2015-2021 in Colombia, working with exotic animals and wildlife before moving to Canada with his family. He was even a lion’s vet at one point!
“I love being a part of the Blue Cross Team because everyone is friendly and there is always a helping hand when I need it.”
Harry has yet to get a pet in Canada as it has been hard to find extra time to devote to a furry friend. When he is able to find some free time though, he enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family.
Harry hopes to expand his veterinary knowledge from working with the BCAH Team and his patients as he enjoys learning new things. In the future, Harry is planning to obtain his Veterinary License in Canada to practice as a veterinarian.
