Veterinary Technician

Jenna

Jenna grew up in Kingston, Ontario and has always dreamed of spending time with animals every day. She believes that being a Veterinary Technician is a great way to combine your love for animals and medicine.

As a Technician, Jenna’s day consists of admitting surgeries and monitoring anesthesia for them. She cares for hospitalized patients, takes radiographs, and collects blood. Most importantly, she ensures that all our animal companions are comfortable and well-cared for while at Blue Cross.

Jenna started her career in the Veterinary Industry as an Animal Care Attendant and was fortunate enough to advance her career to a Veterinary Technician. She believes that the hands-on teaching from her fellow Technicians has been an incredible way to learn, and thinks she is a better Tech because of this!

“I love working with like-minded people who advocate for animals. Blue Cross has a strong team dynamic, Veterinarians who truly care, as well as amazing supportive staff.”

Having a soft spot for Bully Breeds, Jenna and her husband had an American Bulldog mix for 10 years and have now adopted a Bullmastiff-mix. They’ve fostered a Bully-mix puppy before and plan to do as much fostering as they can.

Outside of the Clinic, Jenna loves birdwatching, walking their dog Lemmy, cycling, and eating delicious food. She joins the Kayaking for Cancer Team every year and paddles from Kingston to Ottawa to raise money for cancer research and to help find a cure. 2023 will be her tenth year paddling!
