Nancy-Gioia

Nancy-Gioia’s grandparents had a farm outside of Orangeville and she spent every summer break there. She fell in love with the animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to have a career working with and caring for them.

As a Veterinary Technician, Nancy-Gioia’s day consists of caring for animals and working with our veterinarians. She administers medications, preps and recovers pets from surgery, cleans teeth., and administers cuddles as required.

Nancy-Gioia’s original goal was to work with large animals such as lions and elephants, so she spent five years at the University of Guelph, getting a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She then decided to become a Veterinary Technician, so she did her technician training at Seneca College, King Campus.

“I love spending everyday with animals and taking care of them. I love the team at BCAH and I love being able to learn so much from all the team members.”

Nancy-Gioia has three amazing cats named Simba, Arya and Mac. They are siblings from the same litter, who she got all at once when she moved back home from university. According to Nancy-Gioia, raising three kittens is a lot of work but “definitely worth it.”

Nancy-Gioia loves reading and tv shows and has a huge passion for the Harry Potter series.

Her goals are to become the best veterinary technician that she can be and to travel the world as much as possible. Nancy-Gioia’s dream is to live on a farm like her grandparents and spend a lifetime helping and taking care of animals in Canada and all over the world as well. She would also like to go to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios 😉 !
