Hospital Manager

Nerma

Nerma grew up on a farm in Bosnia before moving to Canada at the age of nine. Her love for animals began early, so it’s no surprise that she chose a career in veterinary medicine- one she has been dedicated to for the past 20 years.

She has truly done it all. Nerma began her career in Animal Care, where she lovingly looked after patients each day- a role she cherished and carried out with great pride. She then moved into Client Care, which allowed her to connect more closely with the families behind the pets she had cared for. She loved the stories, the photos, and the meaningful relationships built over time.

Today, as Hospital Manager, Nerma has the privilege of supporting both staff and clients while staying involved in all aspects of the clinic. “I love supporting our wonderful team and clients. This role allows me to implement change, put forth better practices, and champion our hospital’s core values and mission.”

When she’s not at the clinic, Nerma is kept busy at home by her lively crew: her three-year-old daughter Mila, 1 year old daughter Robin, her 13-year-old husky Nyx, and her two mischievous cats, Herman and Hunter.

Fun fact: Nerma has a twin sister who also works at BCAH! Many clients don’t realize there are two of them, often joking that Nerma must be changing uniforms throughout the day to be everywhere at once.
